Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei

Not so long ago, I started to pick up on a new anime. It's called Sayornara Zetsubou Sensai (bye bye, teacher of despair). This anime cracked me up.

The plot is about a teacher who always think in negative terms, but will meet a student that is not capable of seeing things negatively, but will only be able to see things in a positive way.

Not only is this all brought in a hilarious way, but lots of small details in the anime actually makes it kind of fun. For example how all names are composed. The teacher's name is actually suppose to be ito shiki nozomu (hope). But when you take put the first two chars together, it the name will change into zetsubou, which means despair. And there's a girl called Meru (that's how japanese people speak out mail). Meru is the girl that only communicates with others thru text messages. Actually all the characters have a funny name.

Anyway, i would definitely recommend this anime to any1 who is reading this. Not only does it display that all negatives can be brought into a positive light (in a very extreme way), but it also tells us that we should never think thinks too extremes :).

Slam Dunk 2.0!

Q. Will there be a sequel to "Slam Dunk"?

Currently there are no plans for a "Slam Dunk 2" or any sequels.
However, according to Mr. Inoue, "I'm waiting for the desire to draw it to come naturally from within me. Since it won't be because somebody is making me do it, but because I want to enjoy drawing it myself, when the time comes for me to deal with those feelings, there will probably be a #2."
(Comment made by Mr. Inoue on NHK TV's "Top Runner" on 6/15/2000)

Wot wot wot? OMG... Slamdunk probably will be back! Can't wait for the sequal of the Manga! Wonder how long it takes till Inoue-sama till Slam Dunk 2 comes naturally from within him. This comment was made in 2000... While 2007 is around the corner.. lol.

A New Beginning...

For years I’ve been blogging at Xanga, and great joy it has brought me, but bored I was with the limitations it came with it. One of the most frustrating things was that my friends from outside Xanga-community were unable to comment. It limited our creativeness in terms of design, since it had certain restrictions for non-paying members. Not to mention the fact that my friends slowly removed their Xanga accounts.

So here it is. A new beginning. A beginning of my new online saga, and most of all a beginning of my new creation. Finally I have the freedom to do what I want…. the freedom to let my imagination run wild. You probably noticed that the style is still minimal, but I have great plans for this blog, even though I have no real idea or concept at this moment.

But for years I’ve admired the great works of Jugendstil/Art Noveau. And too be honest, I have never really knew the name of this kind of artwork. And many might think that my fondness for Art Noveau started with Alfons Mucha, or Gaudi, but no, these great artists were introduced to me at later stages, by my friend, and great artist himself, Tom, who is also a great fan of Mucha’s work.

The exact roots of my fondness can be found in a Japanese manga name “Oh my Goddess”, created by Kosuke Fujishima. I wasn’t really attracted by the story itself. But what attracted me the most was the style he potrayed his characters. Little did I know that this style was actually called Art Noveau.

For this new commencement I will choose Art Noveau my housestyle. Although I’m not totally sure if it will be classic enough to call it real Art Noveau. I rather mix my own imagination with everything that might look nice, and come up with something rather classic, but yet modern enough to fit my contents.
